Is the USPS tracking system bugged?

“Delivery status information is not available for your item via this web site. A return receipt after mailing may be available through your local Post Office.”

Ok so last week I sent out a record to someone and purchased the Confirmation Delivery option via USPS Media Mail. Typically I purchase the Confirmation Delivery option with PayPal through the web after someone wins an eBay auction. But I wanted to try it out physically. I went home after drop off at the USPS and typed in the code, over 15 times just in case I was putting it in wrong.

I kept getting the same paragraph (the first quote up there) so I hoped for the best and prayed that my package would be sent to the right address (I’m used to following the tracking through the internet).

Today I have two purchases that will come to me via USPS and both companies sent me tracking information and the same paragraph pops up! I even tried my Safari browser thinking maybe Chrome was blocked? Anyhow, how could a bug this huge be going for so long? About a week and half now I’d say I’ve had this problem.

Anyone else having tracking shipping problems with USPS?
