Are you of the opinion that many highly rated professions do more harm to the country than good?

Doctor > Accountant > Lawyer > Investment Banker

I believe corrupt individuals in those professions certainly can do more harm than good. Every profession listed by @johnpowell is noble in its purpose. That said, I think the world at large suffers from an incredibly greedy, power-hungry mindset; but it is the bad people driving that greed and power-hunger, not the professions themselves.

I have no way of evaluating this. Are you asking about their reputation in the popular mind? As in how often are they the butt of jokes? A doctor, a lawyer, and an accountant walk into a bar…..

..and agree with each other saying “Let’s f**k the country up.” Yeah I’m pretty sure they’re doing that in the UK.

The co-opting of numerous professional disciplines by big business has made it hard for many professionals to think straight.

There are bad guys (and gals) in every profession. It isn’t the profession that’s corrupt. It’s individuals in the profession. Unfortunately, greed overpowers goodness too many times.

It’s not by profession, but by individual that we can determine who does more harm than good.
