Is it a good idea to use butter milk instead of milk if the waffle recipe doesn't call for it?

It’s good and I like it but a bit on the sweet side. I have butter milk and I want to try it…

Would it still taste good with this recipe? Would butter milk make my waffles LESS crispy? I like crispy!
