Will you share your uncomplicated slow cooker recipes with me? (Also an additional question about this CrockPot)

For starters, I just got a new Crock Pot over the holidays, and I threw some frozen meatballs in about an hour ago. Now my kitchen smells like plastic. I washed the stoneware and the lid after I took it out of the box, should I be concerned about eating food out of this thing? Or is that just typical of new appliances?

I have always had a slow cooker, but mine is pretty small, so my options to make meals in it were limited. My husband and kids are really finicky eaters, but I’d like to use this bigger slow cooker to make family meals rather than sides and dips (as I’ve used the smaller one to do.) Would you share your favorite slow cooker recipes with me? I’m really looking for stuff with uncomplicated ingredients, or things that are easy to alter for picky eaters.. but if you have a really great recipe that you recommend for parties or something similar, I’ll take those, too. :)
