Is Dancing With the Stars the new Hollywood Squares?

Asked by Self_Consuming_Cannibal (4269points) January 13th, 2013

What I mean has Dancing With the Stars replaced Hollywood Squares in the fact that this is now perhaps the show that actor/actresses go to lay their careers to rest?

RIP career

No, they go to revive their careers. Several of them have been successful at it too.

Is that a “strictly come dancing” ripoff?

We have one of those celebrity tosspot shows over here in england town, Dancing on Ice & Pamela Anderson was voted off first in week 1…up against the usual garbage has-been z-listers.
Guess that answers the question pretty much perfectly.

Au contraire – it’s not easy at all to dance… they sometimes gain newfound respect. And shed a few pounds. Hollywood squares is something else entirely.

@zensky I agree Hollywood Squares was totally different and the stars have to be in relatively good shape for a lot of those dance steps.
I can safely say I have gained a new respect for some of them.
