Contemporary Comedic Monologue Suggestions?

Asked by mattunger (4 points ) 2 months ago

I have a hard time picking out monologues for myself and could use some help. Does anyone have any suggestions for good contemporary comedic monologues. I am a 29 year old actor and do well with physical comedy. Thanks for your help!

I’ve used Woody Allen scripts in the past. Lots of great monologues in both Annie Hall and Manhattan.

Thanks, I’ll look in to that!

You’re welcome. And here’s one more I’ve used, “My Dinner with Andre.” The character Wally has some great, humorous dialogue.

It’s not a movie, but you are forgiven for thinking it may be so. Figuring that you’re much younger than I am, I should have included this link to explain a bit of Saturday Night Live history. If you do more checking on your own (I’m not supposed to say “just google the phrase”) you can see tons of YouTube videos of Chevy Chase delivering this line on what is now SNL. This running joke lasted for nearly two years in many variations.

Is Hugo Chavez still dead?
