What is a good Twitter analaytics service that will do the following?

Asked by DrewJ (349 points ) 2 months ago

I have been looking everywhere and can not find what I need so I am hoping someone here knows. I need a service, free or paid, that can track certain Twitter statistics from an account I own. For example, I will use @Sample. I need a service that will:

1. Track how many total incoming Direct Messages and Mentions to @Sample there are per day for the span of a week.
2. Track how many outgoing Tweet and DMs are sent from @Sample
3. Track how many tweets have a certain keyword/phrase BUT ALSO are either a Direct message or contain a mention to @Sample. (Again, per day for span of a week).
4. And if possible, average response times.

Anyone know something that can do all of the above? I don’t mind paying but free is always better.

HootSuite took over the Twapperkeeper software. You could check that out. I’m not sure how much it costs. That would allow you to archive @Sample and #Samples. I don’t think there will be anything that will allow you to search direct messages. They are private and therefore not in the public domain. If you only want to search tweets from an @Sample you can just go to their page and gather the weeks tweets. If you want the two-way conversation you’ll need something like Twapperkeeper. Also, you can set up a search in Twitter and collect tweets to a @Sample or #Sample but if it’s a fast moving topic you will need to archive the search regularly and if it’s really fast, it will be difficult to manage.

Thanks for that information. I can’t use the search function in Twitter. I can’t spend the long hours it would take to count all the tweets with my eyes, I need something that will track all this and give me a number. I will try TwapperKeeper.

The only other thing – I have an app I use to respond to tweet. It offers no analytics. I CAN’T change the tool I use to tweet. So I need the analytics service to be separate.

Twapperkeeper is separate. It used to be great before HootSuite bought it but I don’t know how they have set it up. You used to be able to also get the open source software but I don’t think you can now. Do a search for Twapperkeeper in Google. When the original, stand alone site was bought out there was a lot of debate about how to archive tweets. That might give you other options.
