Thanks for sharing the link. And good idear to put this one in general ;)
Yeah, I just read that a bill was proposed in my state to punish doctors who perform abortions and make the procedures all but inaccessible throughout most of the state.
Do you agree with the author of this article that access or lack thereof to abortions is the best or most important way to measure how “good” a particular state is for women?

I thought Mississippi was pretty low (in most regards) but they aren’t in the brackets at all. Maybe because their war on women isn’t new, it’s nearly won.

So here’s to the state of Mississippi.

I don’t believe women’s equality to men is not just about one item, whether it is abortion or something else.

Oh my goodness, @fundevogel , I haven’t heard the late, great, Phil Ochs’ song about the state of Mississippi since I was a teenager! In addition to the Link that you listed, you can add the YouTube link

Considering the very short-sighted views of too many of the people who live in the state of Mississippi, I would suggest that every Flutherite listen to this song!

South Dakota has enacted some very restrictive laws that effectively makes reproductive choice no choice at all.

Most of what I read is that women can’t get abortions after twenty weeks, okay, then get them before that.

Stricter regulations on abortion clinics, good, they should be sanitary and women should leave healthy.

But the question is not “Which states are the worst when it comes to reproductive choice?”

Also some people believe it is not only about the woman, it is also about the right of the child the same way that the law says no to abortion after 12 weeks.

KNOWITALL's avatar

@flo Unfortunately not many people care about the rights of the unborn child, as I’m sure you know.

@KNOWITALL I think the fact that there is time limit 12 weeks etc. (for example) shows that people care. But we might continue this discussion on another OP though , since this one is not just about abortion.

Here is one of the OPs, or one of us can post one.

@flo Well it sorta kinda is about abortion as that is what the link is about, but I get your point.

KNOWITALL's avatar

@flo We can private message if you like, or you can post a Q, whatever. Everyone knows I am against abortion personally but tend to be Pro-Choice because I’m a woman and our bodies, our choice. In my world, God gives you the choice to do right or wrong, so I’m not going to vote for that choice to be taken away even though most conservatives tend to disregard God’s voice when they protest abortion. Anyway, PM if you like.

@Rarebear Right I just realized that. I find your title Q more interesting although I don’t have the answer yet.

@KNOWITALL More people to learn from in OPs for me, like that link I posted.
