Do you suddenly have people ringing your doorbell wanting to work?

Asked by Aster (20023points) March 23rd, 2013

It seems like for many years people would not show up at all to work , say they forgot or be awfully late. But suddenly it seems people are ringing our doorbell, handing us their business card and asking if they can mow the yard , clean the gutters, etc. Do you find this happening to you? And when someone does work they’re working for eight hours and almost knocking themselves out to do a super job. Same with you?

Yes, same here. The hardworking talent pool is very high currently, all over, in every industry.

It is a sign of displaced workers. Not all of us are cut out to be social loafers.

No, but I live out in the burbs – almost farm country – and there aren’t that many vagrant types just walking around looking for work. (Unless you count Mormons and Johova’s Witnesses).

Sometime I wish there were – there are some chores in the back 40….
