If you could rank the top 5 news sites / programs in order of reliability, which 5 would you choose?

And the very bottom 5 (such as Fox)

TheBlaze and MichaelSavage.com is all you need lol.

I haven’t been reading a lot of news lately, but anything that isn’t a traditional network is where you want to go. Networks are controlled by sponsors and people who donate to them, which is why you’ll see them reporting cat videos and Lindsey Lohan instead of something wrong the U.S. is doing. This is CNN, Fox, and MSNBC etc.

Although, apparently Al Jazeera (English, of course) is a decent news website.

Infowars, Glenn Beck, and Fox News are all the news I need.

@Michael_Huntington I have some conservative co workers that will read the blaze and michael savage all day, but say Fox isn’t real news….....

I get the news I need from the weather report….

And The New York Times and NPR.

I look at CNN.com when I want Faux News and won’t even go to the other place for that.

I always thought CNN was reliable…?

I trust George Stephanopoulos on Good Morning America. Unfortunately you only get about 20 minutes of real news on that show before it all turns to fluff. I also prefer Shepard Smith on Fox. He reports the news as is and he’s not afraid to admit when a mistake is made. Mistakes happen with any news organization. I also get news from our local NBC affiliate.

I do think it’s funny that both another user and I reported about the Boston bomber’s capture at the same time on this question. I don’t know where this other user got her information, but I got mine from Fox. haha (there are some reporters at Fox who report the news. it isn’t all Hannity garbage.)

I usually read several different sources and extrapolate on my own. After the Boston fiasco, I’ve decided just to read Reddit and Twitter. That seems to be where the news gets their information, anyway. Cut out the middle man.

I get my most of my news from The Daily Beast and Time magazine.

I’m not a fan of any of the 24 hour news cycle purveyors on the tube.

Second vote for the CBC. :)

@Dutchess_III, you’re kidding about CNN, right?

Dutchess_III's avatar

No, I’m not. I’ve always thought they were reliable. I want to know why they aren’t, because I don’t want to read the site if they aren’t.

@Dutchess_III Expanding on what I said in the pms, I think they try so hard for scoops, that they make mistakes as they did last week. I also found that a friend who relies solely on CNN for his news was much more worried by North Korea’s threats than I was reading the Times. I don’t necessarily see them as biased the way Fox can be, but I would check a few other sources before believing their scoops.
