For dog owners: What are your experiences with "over the counter" incontinence drugs?

My dog is now up there in age and is becoming increasingly incontinent. Within the past few weeks it’s getting worse. I’ve started to look into over the counter supplements and treatments that may help the issue. I have found 3…

Has anyone had experience with these products, or others to recommend? I’d like to try these before having to go to the vet and get the prescription meds for incontinence. And no suggesting diapers – I simply refuse to do that to her ;-)

I would consider euthanasia before I even thought about incontinence drugs for an older dog.

Seems as if I have read that vitamin e helps. But I am not sure. Did you google holistic aids? I would go that route or go to the vet. And I personally would try the holistic/natural first.

Molly is on the prescription drug Proin. If she didn’t have it I would have to put her down. She is also on a pain reliever (can’t remember the name.) She seems to be doing a lot better. Getting another dog increased her activity level and probably added a few years to her life.

@Judi Why would you have had to put her down without it? As far as I am concerned with my dog, it’s just pee lol. She’s healthy otherwise. I read about Proin, I’m just hoping to try a natural method that may not be so hard on her system. But in case I’m not successful with other supplements, the Proin has helped Molly?

Proin has helped a lot!
She has already done more than $4000in damage from the pee. It may make me a bad dog mommy but I can’t afford much more.
