How do you remove words from the stock Android dictionary?

Disclaimer: I don’t have an Android, this is just a suggestion based on a feature on the iPhone, so apologies if you don’t have this feature!

Do you have a place where you can set keyboard “shortcuts?” Generally, this is used to automatically change an abbreviation to the full phrase (e.g. “brb” to “be right back.”). But I use it for situations like you describe, where I constantly get autocorrected to the wrong word, or I type it incorrectly to begin with. For example, I frequently miss the “o” when typing “love,” and I instead get the word “live.” To fix this, I set a shortcut so that when I type “live,” my phone now automatically changes it to “love.” If your phone has this feature, you could set your phone to change “tiu” to “you” and “ringgit” to “tonight.”

That’s an excellent workaround. It won’t change it automatically, but it it does add it to the list of auto-correct options right above the keyboard. Thanks, @Fly!

That shortcut wouldn’t work for me, @Fly. I love in New England.

The stock keyboard doesn’t give you an option to remove words. I use Swype, which is available in the Play Store for a buck. It’s way more intuitive and if the wrong word appears, especially if it’s a word that you’ll never use, you just tap the word, long press it from the suggested words list above the keyboard, and you can remove it from your personal dictionary. Hope that helps.
