Do you dream up off-the-wall ideas, and would you like to share them with us?

Asked by Dutchess_III (46807points) June 4th, 2013

We have a privacy fence and 2 dogs. I keep wanting to paint a picture of a famous cartoon dog on the outside of the fence, facing the street, and cut a hole out of where his face goes. Then my dogs can stick their head out of the hole to see what’s going on in the neighborhood~But the people will see Balto with a real dog’s head! Like those silly things you see at the fair. :) I want to do that.

I was fed-up with life once, and in a bout of frustration painted my kitchen wall.

this was about five feet square. Took a couple of hours. Very cathartic. My husband was quite surprised when he came home from work that day.

Shame I don’t live there anymore.

I am an interior decorator the options are endless really. The fun part is I get to let other people tell me their dreams and then I can do something cool within reason, and sometimes if it is the right client it can be off the wall..pun intended.

My last dream was african. I’ve started to have a faux africa theme. lol. Since I won’t actually have real tusks or real lions and shit.

I figured out the cure for ulcerative colitis at 3AM one sleepless night: hang upside down while eating. I think I was slightly delirious.

I’ve fantasized about a beach house that was built on poles and had a shell that was built like a boat because I would love to sit at a porthole and watch the hurricanes hit the beach.

I thought of a lot of designs but they always end up looking like a boat stuck on poles.

I always thought it would be a super cool idea to have a room in my eventual house where everything was just flipped upside down. Carpet on the ceiling, chairs nailed to the ceiling etc and then like a chandler sticking up from the floor, pictures all upside down on the walls. I’d still want it designed in a way that it was all functional still like maybe have the chandler in a way that it would also serve as a table and chairs or something. I just think it’d be a really cool mind fuck to hang out in that room :P

Oh yes, I have many creative and zany ideas. I saw these amazing living pictures when I traveled in Asia. Real grass growing inside frames in a restaurant.
I painted the walls in my old house a metallic bronze, they looked gorgeous with a huge turquoise and gold modern abstract painting I have. I like to collect strange lamps, I have a mood lighting fetish and I landscaped and layed sod in my old corral for my pet geese.

I also once made the coolest moss ball bowl. I crammed Irish moss balls into a huge ceramic bowl and they melded together to look like little islands.
I am a creative at heart but man…gimme some good marijuana and look out! lol
One of my dreams would be to build a treehouse. I love decorating and also have a background in interior design.

@Coloma Oh man, that is definitely one of my life goals. I want to build a sustainable community of tree houses (connected by zip lines and cool bridges of course) and just uses the land below for agriculture.

@uberbatman Yur nuts! Can I move in with you when you’re done?

nofurbelowsbatgirl's avatar

@uberbatman Besides interior decorating dancing is another passion of mine. Instead of having the stuff on the ceiling you could defy gravity while dancing on the ceiling, it’s really hard though. I would love to do that routine.

Coloma's avatar

@uberbatman Let’s do it! Costa Rica maybe? Gotta be off the ground so it’s harder for the Fer de lance to get you. lol

El_Cadejo's avatar

@Dutchess_III of course, all are welcome to join the ewok community :P

@nofurbelowsbatgirl cool video, thanks for sharing

@Coloma As long as we’re in a rain forest I’m a happy dude :) . I (lucky) only ran across a fer de lance once in my travels. You’re faced with a really interesting problem out in the jungle there, do I light the fire to keep away the jaguar which will also attract snakes or do I just go without a fire?

@Coloma How is ol’ Marwyn doing, anyway? I was thinking about him recently.

Dutchess_III's avatar

Aw…she had to move, Seek, so I don’t know if she still has Marwyn….? :(

Seek's avatar

Marwyn has a new home with his girlfriend, and plenty of room to play, last I heard.

Dutchess_III's avatar

O! Then how IS Marwyn, @Coloma?

nofurbelowsbatgirl's avatar

@uberbatman no problem. :) I’m glad you enjoyed it.

Coloma's avatar

Marwyn is doing great, he is bonding with his new mother goose and following her around and she is cuddling him and carying him around. He is not so fond of her husband, but, he has always beens a mamas gander and a ladies kinda guy. haha
I miss him terribly but I am happy he has a wonderful new home. I got a picture of him yesterday titled ” Master gardening goose” he was proudly standing by a new rosebush they planted and he loves to help with the weeding. :-)

@uberbatman I almost stepped on a Bamboo viper in the forests of Taiwan a few years ago. They are sleek and green and blend right in. Lucky me as I was about 150 miles from any medical help. Such are the risks of wandering off the beaten path. :-)

Dutchess_III's avatar

How did you end up in Taiwan? Glad to hear all is will with the spoiled little goose!

@Dutchess_III Traveling with friends around Asia in 2010, a great time!

….No wonder your suggestions for me aren’t working. :]~
