O! You mean literally “crap” crap! God I hate it when they do that…..and then they’re likely to throw it all up on your carpet. IDK. Put explosives in some of them? :)

If it’s her own stool that she’s eating, yes. A product called Forbid, sprinkled on their food, makes the feces taste unpalatable (the mind boggles at how “regular” feces taste just fine).I’ve been told that Fobid is nothing more than meat tenderizer, but I’d check with your veterinarian before sprinkling food with McCormick’s.

As an aside, make sure that she’s free of intestinal parasites – a dietary imbalance can cause them to want to eat feces.

If it’s other pet’s poop, the only thing that will help is behavior modification.

It floors me the crap dogs can eat that would put us in the hospital, like spoiled meat. Why don’t they get sick?

Dogs are gross. And it’s my opinion that they all eat poop, whether their own or someone else’s. (Kitty crunchies, anyone??) There are things to use, as @syz said… if you only have the one dog, and she’s eating her own, that is. With that stuff, it has to be fed to the dog whose poop is being consumed, and the dosage is by the size of the dog, so if you have multiple dogs and they’re big, it gets pricey. Besides a vet check for parasites, again per @syz :-), a couple harmless things to try might be probiotics and/or dog multivitamins.

If anyone is offended by my ‘dogs are gross’ comment, please realize it’s followed by ‘but I love them anyway’. And if you’re offended by that, too bad!

You could scatter pepper on their poop…

@Dutchess_III I know a chap who managed to stop his Labradors eating other dogs poo by squirting mustard on it. Apparently it stopped them quite quickly!!!

I went to look for FORBID on amazon and they showed several other alternatives too. I only have two dogs to treat. I will update you if it works.

@Judi So, are they still at it?

Actually, Molly, the poop eater is in her last hours. :-( she can hardly walk and has stopped eating for the most part.
Her appointment to go to doggie heaven is tomorrow morning. :-(
The supplements DID work though but made their poop runny.

Bye bye Molly. She went to doggie heaven this morning.
