When did the bubbles go bad?

When did the bubbles go bad?

All I wanted was some cheap good fun with the niece and nephew. It seemed that Walgreens Super Miracle Bubbles were the answer. Two for two dollars… And although that is very pricey for bubble water, I like buying quality. My faith was put into a company with the foresight to make both blue and pink bottles. We were set for a funtastic morning!

But NOOOOOOOOOO… There is nothing super or miraculous about Walgreens Super Miracle Bubbles. Not one sphere formed from either the blue or pink bottles. I come from a long line of bubble blowers. I’ve mastered a few secret techniques which I dare not share with the public. Alas, NOTHING, nada, ZiLcH! No bubble would be had today.

It’s bad enough when our corporatocracy takes advantage of common citizens by overpricing inferior consumer items. But now they’ve gone too far, lying to our children, turning their exuberant excitement into disappointment. I’ve had enough. This is the bubble that broke Bubba’s back!

Never again shall I purchase bubbles without testing them in the store. These must be some foreign made bargain basement bubbles. Next time I’ll insist upon quality bubbles made in the good ole’ USA. We all know how those blow!

The best bubbles EVER are homemade.

Thanks @syz. That recipe might float me through the afternoon.

@RealEyesRealizeRealLies – running out of Prozac? Next time you are in Walgreen’s, get a refill…

Actually I bought bubbles for the grandkids a couple of weeks ago at Bed bath and beyond, of all places. They had a non-spillable bubble tank.

Anyway, their formula worked well.

Prozac? Perhaps you’re right @elbanditoroso. Thanks for the advice. This episode made me want to burst.

Totally off topic, but this question reminded me of Mr. Bubble bubble bath. I want some now.

Most of the good ones got a job with SC Johnson.

Hey, that happened to me just last week. I took the bottle back and got another one. The first one was a DUD.

@Mama_Cakes Mr. Bubble would be rolling in his tub if he knew what’s become of the bubble business.

I see @rojo. Like anything, the big corps steal away the best bubbles. A dirty trick!

Sorry @YARNLADY that you had to suffer that return. We can put humans on the moon. But we can’t seem to prevent SUDS from becoming DUDS.

I agree with @syz- homemade works wonders. There’s even a recipe for Giant Bubbles

Now those are some bombastic bubbles for sure @linguaphile. I’ll have to check with local authorities before atempting such an event. Bubzillas of that size may be prohibited around here. Old Widow Churly died of a heart attack last spring when a big bothersome bubble formed into the shape of Jesus and chased her down the street. It exploded atop her head. Her last words before collapsing onto the sudsy sidewalk were “I’m coming home Clarence… Cleansed by the blubble of tbe Lamb”

That’s the trouble with bubbles you know. They like to play God.

I haven’t had kids that age around the house for a lo-o-o-o-ng time, but we made our own, using a trial-and-error formula consisting of dish detergent (Dawn, I believe), water, and glycerin.

I remember when a friend of mine (we were both in our late teens) poured a box of Mr. Bubble into a mall fountain—then in his lycergized state, came back to watch. That’s what got him busted!

Our brand new mall fountain got bubblized last month and they had to call out the police because the bubbles were blowing into traffic and landing on windshields.

The mall maintenance apparently has a neutralizer, because the bubbles were gone with in an hour.
