What do you always find while looking for something else, but not when you need it?

Asked by Hypocrisy_Central (26879points) July 14th, 2013

You always run into X when you don’t need it; you always see it or it is in your way when you are trying to find Y. Then when you need X you can never find it, even in places you seen it when you were not looking for it. What is “X” to you, keys, ear rings, screwdriver, etc?

Mostly a tool of some kind. Sometimes one that I had given up on before and Pow, there it is again. Its quite a solid feeling to learn that I didn’t totally loose it for good.

CD’s stuffed into the wrong cases. Which sets in motion a chain search to finally get to the bottom of all the ones in the wrong place. Er…usually though I will just quit digging when I get to the one I want to listen to. The other castaways aren’t going anywhere. .

A pair of glasses. I have them all over the house so I’m always stumbling onto a pair, but when I need some? They’re never there.

If I really need one of those printer USB cables I will find boxes upon boxes of micro and mini USB cables. If I need a micro USB cable I will find boxes of the printer USB cables. If I need a mini USB cable then I’ll find that stash of Ethernet cables I needed a few months ago.

@ucme Shit questions. If you are including this one, sorry, people here like fluff questions. They like it so much if it were any fluffier it would look like cotton candy. I have a poopy bag if you want to clean up….

Yup, coz look at the shit load of responses you got here…

Shit questions are a nice break from the ones that clearly indicate the asker has a bug up their ass.

Bring on the shit.

I don’t usually like them, but that’s usually what ends up being posted. Or non-questions. Personally, I’m always waiting for the next “What does [X] dream mean?”
