Is this true about this one drug lord? (or maybe several?)

Asked by ScottyMcGeester (1897points) July 29th, 2013

I really can’t recall now because it was a while ago and I was just wandering around the Internet. But I remember reading somewhere that a specific drug lord has enough money to give every person in America healthcare. Twice. Something really crazy like that. Whoever this drug lord was had lots of gold-plated weapons, like AK-47s and stuff. I remember seeing the pictures. I don’t remember who it was (or maybe they referred to a couple?) or how long ago it was or even if they are still doing their thing or if they were caught. It’s vague but maybe someone has an idea.

Doesn’t ring a bell, sorry. I do no that Oprah could give every American a million dollars and still be obscenely wealthy.

Oprah has more than $300 trillion dollars? Holy shit.

I think Oprah could give everyone in the country a dollar and still be quite wealthy, as I know that she’s worth over a billion, so a billion less 300,000,000 would still be a lot. But she’s no trillionaire.

I’m not one to judge people’s personal lives, for all we know she could be going through shit. But sometimes when I hear how much money celebrities have who also talk about how much they care about the world, a part of me goes, “With the money you have, you could be doing so much more if you really care.” Again, I don’t know, but the question always pops in my mind.

You may be thinking of Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman. He had over $1 Billion, and made the Forbes list of richest people.

@filmfann any chance we can hit him up for a handout? Or a couple of billion handout?
