What do you see when you look out of the window?

Asked by LornaLove (10037points) July 31st, 2013

I am in my bedroom now with the laptop in my lap. If I look out of the bedroom window, I see a small park which unfolds just at the end of my front door pathway. The grass is almost lime green and olive green. There are gorgeous trees all around and there is a dog walking about.

This is to me a beautiful view.

What do you see when you look out of your window now?

My desk is in front of, and facing, a huge window. At first, I see my window box, which is packed with flowers in full bloom. Beyond that, there’s my garden. Then, I see about an acre of lawn and trees. It’s a gorgeous view. (No wonder I spend too much time at my computer!)

Parking lot to the right; busy street behind me. At least it keeps me focused on work ;-)

Where I sit now I see the condo complex across the street, blue skies, and palm trees,

Gardening staff tending to the flower beds & such like, pool staff filtering the olympic sized swimming pool & my butler Carstairs chasing peasants from the helipad…bloody riff-raff.

I’m stuck in a cubicle at work, at the moment, so I am in a windowless void and subjected to the daily grind. I compensate by displaying very picturesque landscape wallpapers on one of the two 22” monitors I use in my work area. Not as good as a window but it offers hope for what I can see in the great outdoors when I’m released from work.

The apartment building across the way which, not surprisingly for my life, is full of older and vaguely unattractive people.

So it did. Better or worse?

I see a tobacco field and four happy dogs wrestling each other in some fresh mud puddles.

I see the end of our side yard and a path through the woods. I’ve seen all sorts if wildlife on it and dog walkers. So many birds. Beautiful flowers. I love it.

The Russ Building at 225 Montgomery Street, San Francisco. My office is across the street.

Oh, and I see Montgomery Street too.

Wish I knew how to get a link to a Google maps picture.

I see the huge pine tree right in front of our house, which I love, because I love pine trees, plus it shades the morning sun so it is a gentle light when we are getting up, and it gives us privacy in the bedroom and living room. Beyond that is our well-maintained landscaping for our complex, then the street and the homes and cars on the other side. I’ve never measured it, but it’s probably close to 100 feet of yard to the road, then another 200 feet across the parking lot to the homes on the other side. I like that the buildings aren’t right on top of each other.

Today I see a bunch of smoke. The fires up here in Oregon are so. Bad that the air doesn’t look any better than Bakersfield which has the worst air in the nation. At least up here it smells like burning wood and not farm and petroleum chemicals.

My little yard, nice green grass, a cherry tree, a pear tree, oleander bushes, huge Azealea bushes, and pine/oak trees bordering the rural cemetery that backs up to my yard, no fences.
Not as awesome as my old property but still nice.
A touch of country on the edge of my small town.

Currently I am staying in my favourite hotel in a little town close to Loch Ness called Drumnadrochit. When I look out of the window of my room I see a few little houses and a grassy area. I want to move here.
