Should I Get Into It?

Asked by Kairi (794points) August 15th, 2013

My boyfriend and several friends of mine are all obsessed with Homestuck. (And when I say obsessed, I mean they know everything there is to know about the series, cosplay the characters, and even act/type based on certain characters and how they do things, and even use terms from it to describe things and confuse the crap out of non Homestuckers.) It seems interesting, but I know it’s really long and I don’t exactly have the time right now, but would anyone actually recommend it? I know the fanbase is a mixture of mostly teens, very young adults, and older men/women with nothing better to do with their time (this was described to me by several Homestcukers. Not trying to be rude) It is worth it to get into it?

Somewhat embarrassed to say that I have no idea of what Homestuck is.

I think you have a lot of other things going on in your life that need to be a priority right now. I completely get the anime stuff and use to go to numerous conventions every year. There comes a time though when those things need to be put on the back burner a bit so you can take care of the necessities in life. I would hold off on this until you have the other thingsbgoing on figured out.

If you feel that it is important to share the interest with your boyfriend you should. It could be fun.
