It’s relative to ability & ambition.

“Success” is a very vague term that is totally dependent upon the goals and the persons whom are trying to achieve them.

Success is what you have when you have worked very hard through all obstacles to reach you dream or goal. You will know that you are successful when you see doors of further opportunity open before you.

Also obstacles are those things that you see when you take your eyes off your dream/goal.

A shallow word.

Success is anything this side of failure.

tups's avatar

There’s no success like failure, and failure is no success at all.

Not caring what other people think and being respected anyway.

Bills paid, pantry full, lawn clipped, family happy & healthy, clean house. Just the norm is an achievement to me!

Success is different things to different people, but perhaps the common thread is this:

“He has achieved success who has worked well, laughed often, and loved much.”

These days it is getting through ½ of my to-do list. Today I took all trash and recyclables tot the transfer station, purchased 100 daffodil bulbs in a random mix, bought electric tooth brush and batteries for hospital visit next week, wrote dozens of e-mails, balanced check book, clipped two of Milo’s nails, and did knee exercises.
