What keeps you wanting more lurve?

Asked by jungle_girl (341points) October 2nd, 2013

I’ve been on this site for awhile… I asked a few questions and I leave… though every time I come back I notice the same people with more and more lurve… The first time I came to this site was about 3 years ago… Now I see almost all the same peeps… What keeps you coming on to fluther?

The lurve just comes along with the love – which is what we stay for.

jungle_girl's avatar

ucme I’ve seen you on here for ages. Whats your real answer?

jungle_girl's avatar

janbb, you must stay for more than the lurve?

snowberry's avatar

I’ve been burned by the whole lurve thing. I wish it were not a part of the site, but it is. I have no control over who gives me great answers.

What keeps me coming back is I am very isolated in real life. This provides a safe outlet. I also have made friends here, and some have even made it to my friends list on facebook.

@jungle_girl Did you read what my answer said?

rojo's avatar

@jungle_girl That was his real answer

It’s interesting. It’s informative. It’s stimulating. It’s fun. And nobody can ever have too much lurve.

I couldn’t give a shit about those silly fucking numbers, they’re there & so we get on with it.
I stay because it amuses me, mildly.
Now, would you go back to my question & give me your real answer?

jungle_girl's avatar

There must be a strong sense of community

Headhurts's avatar

I keep coming back here because this is the is the only place where I socialise. I don’t like real life people, that’s why I like it here.

jungle_girl's avatar

ucme, because at times Fluther amuses me. Entertainment

Does not compute, care to expand?

jungle_girl's avatar

Really, though I put it in a nutshell.

It is the Obsessive/Compulsive portion of my personality.

@jungle_girl: “What keeps you wanting more lurve?”

When you reach 16,000 lurve, you win a free watch.

jungle_girl's avatar

Tom_g sweet, I love watches

rojo's avatar

@jungle_girl I believe what @tom_g meant was that you get to watch free.

jungle_girl's avatar

Totally, I love watches

tom_g's avatar

No, @rojo. I meant a watch.

marinelife's avatar

The people, again.

rojo's avatar

@tom_g WOW! Now I gotta stay!

talljasperman's avatar

I am comforted by the stability of the site. Its like being in school and being free to talk, and joke, in class.

augustlan's avatar

While lurve is nice, it’s not what keeps me here. It’s the people.

Hawaii_Jake's avatar

The collective community often gives me good information on questions that are important to me. I don’t care about the numbers.

I also like to watch when Auggie gets out her whip. Watching makes me tingle inside.

Hawaii_Jake's avatar

@augustlan Oo! Can you crack it just once?

Hawaii_Jake's avatar

LOL!

more?

and those boots are to die for!

YARNLADY's avatar

I just hold out hope that maybe, someday enough new people will come along that I will actually reach 40,000. Then all bets are off.

Adirondackwannabe's avatar

I wasn’t breastfed as a baby. It created a life long need to seek lurve and attention.

There’s no better way to procrastinate than Fluthering.

Blondesjon's avatar

We’re actually very similar to Alcoholics Anonymous except many of us are quite fucked up right now.

Rarebear's avatar

Wait, didn’t you just ask this question a different way?

talljasperman's avatar

@Blondesjon ~ I would like to change the name to Alcoholics Unanimous.

Blondesjon's avatar

@talljasperman . . . i like to call it the city of lost wages

talljasperman's avatar

@Blondesjon ~ What is this wages you speak of.

filmfann's avatar

The wages of Sin City is death.

Sometimes I think I can really help someone (even if it’s not the person asking the question).

Sometimes I just want a little levity and a good laugh with friends.

Sometimes I learn about things I never even knew existed, and sometimes I just want to share a good Recipe

YARNLADY's avatar

@Kardamom Thank you for that wonderful recipe.

Kardamom's avatar

@YARNLADY You’re welcome. Doesn’t that just hit the spot for fall?
