If Casper the friendly ghost finds a friend then will he move on? (Details inside)

Asked by talljasperman (21916points) November 7th, 2013

I heard that if a ghost fulfills its greatest desire in life that she/he would move on. Then by those accounts could the making of a friendship cause Casper to move on?

Also doesn’t Casper look like ghost of Richy Rich? Both were looking for friends.

I think you’re on to something here. We may finally get Casper to cross over.

Gosh. I never thought of that.

Haha, Lisa Simpson made that observation before. Here is a shoddy video of it. Couldn’t find an English one, but I thought that was interesting.

…but seriously, who the fuck’s Richy Rich?

I know not much of Casper. Strangely enough, that never interested me as a kid. But I believe it’s safe to say that once a ghost has fulfilled its ’‘goal’’, it is free to move on to wherever the dead are truly meant to go.

Ghosts hang around for some popular reasons; they have not made the realization that they are dead, they have a message to deliver, they have some work that requires closure….but it’s all related to the idea of finding peace. or damnation

So I guess Casper will find peace once he makes friends. Didn’t he ever make any friends? How did this kid die, anyways? Did they ever explain this? So all the shows were just him trying to make friends, but instead he just scared the crap out of everyone, and was forever sad and lonely? I’m serious here, what kind of demented cartoon was this?

^ In the live action movie starring Bill Pullman and Christina Ricci, with a young Devon Sawa as Casper, it was a sledding accident.

Casper was Richie Rich. The kid had that much money!

Or Casper was Richy Richs twin brother that died horribly.
