I’ll start:

Southern Girl, by Tim McGraw, and I’m not real pleased about it. The song is formulaic, slow and overly sweet.

I don’t MIND the song, I just don’t want running in a loop through my MIND.

Neodarwinian's avatar

Mu Baby Blue.

Badfinger.

Why? Don’t know.

Feel? Nothing.

chyna's avatar

Groovy Kind of Love It was playing at the store I was in a little while ago and I can’t get it out of my head.

ibstubro's avatar

I’m thinking that could get old, fast, @chyna. ;-)

ibstubro's avatar

Hello @lx102303, my friend. Seems a long time…I should have known a song question would bring you out.

Great song, unfamiliar to me. I’m not sure I’d like it looping through my head, though. And the video nearly gave me an acid flashback??

:)

Son of a BITCH.

@Flo posted a question about what may be a boy band pop song. So now I have friggin’ Boys II Men’s Mowtownphilly stuck in my head. And I know that’s not even the right goddamn song.

not too hard.. not too soft..

ibstubro's avatar

@Adirondackwannabe That’s a blast from my past! Preferable to McGraw!

filmfann's avatar

A song I wrote years ago, called “Brand New Way”. It’s a bit obscene.

Adirondackwannabe's avatar

@ibstubro I’m a hardcore fan. How many times have you seen them?

Seek's avatar

@filmfann My kingdom for that song.

Imadethisupwithnoforethought's avatar

Kiss with a Fist by Florence and the Machine has been my constant soundtrack for at least a month.

ibstubro's avatar

That sorta scared me, @Seek_Kolinahr. I mean the thought of that looping through my brain…shudder.

Each his own, though.

ibstubro's avatar

@filmfann We can take it that your song never made You Tube? lol

Careful of Seek_Kolinahr’s kingdom, it might be in arrears!

Seek's avatar

Europop for the WIN!

What you just heard there is a Hungarian band named after a Mongolian dictator singing in German about Russian Vodka.

And the internet imploded.

ibstubro's avatar

@Imadethisupwithnoforethought That’s pretty cool song. But constant for a month? If I get one looping for 3 days, I’m losing it.

:)

ibstubro's avatar

@Adirondackwannabe I’ve not seen them, but we about played the grooves off of Back in Black when I was college age.

Hawaii_Jake's avatar

I’m co-directing a play that has music, and the songs are running in a loop in my head. I go to sleep with one and wake up to another.

Seek's avatar

Did you know that AC/DC recorded more material from ‘74 to ‘80 with Bon Scott than they have in 30 years with Brian Johnson. And, Bon Scott.

Adirondackwannabe's avatar

@ibstubro It’s an amazing show, well worth the effort. I’m not sure if I’ve seen them 3 or 4 times. And yes, alcohol was involved.

Seek's avatar

^ Duh.

Imadethisupwithnoforethought's avatar

@ibstubro Watch the video, don’t just listen to the song

Seek's avatar

I love this… haven’t Flunkered in about a million years, and we have all these new people… it’s like old times. ^_^

ibstubro's avatar

@Adirondackwannabe If I remember correctly things a little less legal than alcohol may have fueled my fervor at the time.

ibstubro's avatar

I did watch the video, @Imadethisupwithnoforethought. I’m watching all of the ones linked.

Seek's avatar

^ Also duh.

Springsteen’s “We Take Care of Our Own”

( oops, my wife just bumped into the CD player ).

There’s something special ‘bout six O’clock
In the morning when it’s still too early to knock
And the dusty light shines down on the block
And reflects up and down on the hands of the clock

Six O’clock…..
Six O’clock…..

ibstubro's avatar

@OneBadApple you can’t go too wrong with the Boss!

Or Mellencamp.

SnoopyGirl's avatar

The song that is stuck in my head is “Applause” by Lady Gaga. I hear it constantly and my kids love the beat. There’s nothing worse than having a song stuck in your head because it doesn’t go away anytime soon.

OneBadApple's avatar

@ibstubro My favorite Mellencamp song is ‘Just Another Day’ from the mid-90s.

And I hope that his bass player was given a bonus when the song was completed…

ibstubro's avatar

I looked that up on Tube, @SnoopyGirl, and I feel your pain. On the bright side, as long as you’re awake, the video can’t loop along with it.

I came too late to the Gaga thing…she always strikes me that I’ve wondered into old SNL skit parodying Madonna at her height.

ibstubro's avatar

@OneBadApple for some reason, “Little Pink Houses” is wont to jump in my head periodically, and I always welcome it like an old friend. :)

Seek's avatar

Little boxes on the hillside… little boxes made of ticky-tacky….

OneBadApple's avatar

Oh shit, SK…....ohhhhhh shiiiiiit…...

Seek's avatar

You’re welcome!

Muah ha ha ha ha…

janbb's avatar

“Mostly I’m Silent” because I am in this case.

ibstubro's avatar

What’s that, @janbb?

Blackberry's avatar

“Change my pitch up! Smack my bitch up!”

janbb's avatar

@ibstubro The song by Chicago. The case is a private one.

Blondesjon's avatar

@Neodarwinian . . . Wow. I have Day After Day rolling around in there right now. I don’t know why it’s playing in my head but I do remember hearing it on the radio when I was very little and thinking for the first time that a song could sound “pretty”.

dxs's avatar

Everyyyyyyythiiiiing’s gonna be alllriiiight
I didn’t really want to post it but there you go.

Coloma's avatar

Well…..coincidentally, someone just asked a Q. that prompted the old “Monkees” TV show song…

So now I am singing ” Hey, hey, with the monkees….” Pffft! make it stop!

ibstubro's avatar

Didn’t come up on You Tube, @janbb

chyna's avatar

@Coloma OMG now that song is in my head!
Thanks~

Seek's avatar

The song is called Beginnings, @ibstubro

Coloma's avatar

@chyna Haha..glad to oblige. lol

ibstubro's avatar

@dxs Hey, I enjoyed that. Not as a loop, but a good interlude.

ibstubro's avatar

@Coloma I love the Monkey’s theme, but really, how LONG can it stay looped? lol

Jonesn4burgers's avatar

I Think I Love You. The Partridge Family first season dvds just arrived from Amazon today, and my daughter is trying to see all four discs tonight. WHEEEEEEEEEEEE!

janbb's avatar

@ibstubro Sorry – didn’t remember that that wasn’t the title.
@Seek_Kolinahr thanks!

ibstubro's avatar

@Jonesn4burgers What can I say? “WHEEEEEEEEEEEE!” about covers it!

dxs's avatar

@ibstubro The songs that get stuck in dxs’ head do not represent the musical preferences of dxs. The songs’ intent are to solely distract dxs from day to day happenings, regardless of dxs’ fondness towards the specified songs in dispute. Though I will not admit that it has started to catch on me today.

tinyfaery's avatar

Harlem by New Politics.

Zaku's avatar

I’ve been haunted by ’‘1000 Times’’ by Sara Bareilles since I heard it yesterday.

Valerie111's avatar

I love this song. I heard it on The X Factor tonight.
Who’s Lovin You – Michael Jackson

ibstubro's avatar

Sorry about that, @tinyfaery. Maybe one of these other songs will distract you. lol

ibstubro's avatar

BEAUTIFUL song, @Zaku. Enjoy it for a while.

ibstubro's avatar

I don’t recall hearing that before, @Valerie111. Pretty cool. I left it play while I type this, because I cannot think of the Jackson 5 with the risk of ABC starting a loop through my brain. If that happened again, I’d have to hunt you down!

wildpotato's avatar

The Speed Racer theme song. Sorry, anyone who reads this answer…

Valerie111's avatar

@ibstubro LOL, now it’s stuck in my head! Thanks! ;D

Bluefreedom's avatar

Sitting in the Park – GQ

I heard it on my iPod in my car on my drive to work and I’m still hearing it.

augustlan's avatar

I’ve got the fucking Monkees song in my head, too. Thanks, @Coloma! I’m going to have to sing myself to sleep (very loudly, in my head) with a lullaby just to get it out of there. Hmph.

Jeruba's avatar

Oh, dear. What a time to ask. Why didn’t I get to answer “O mio babbino caro” from Gianni Schicchi, or maybe the Jupiter theme from Holst’s The Planets, or even a nice Broadway number or, for heaven’s sake, a selection from Handel’s Messiah or some fine Verdi chorus? Instead, to be truthful, I have to admit in front of everybody that it’s the theme song from The Addams Family. How mortifying is that?

augustlan's avatar

Now that’s going to duel with the Monkees in my head. Ack!

ucme's avatar

Right now, this precise moment? None, there was a tune playing around my head about 21secs ago…can’t for the life of me remember what it was though.

tom_g's avatar

When I Win The Lottery by Camper Van Beethoven

ccrow's avatar

James Taylor, Your Smiling Face. It was playing at the grocery store yesterday and got stuck in my head.

dxs's avatar

@ccrow That was stuck in my head for a whole week once. The bass line is so groovy.

ibstubro's avatar

@wildpotato Ohh…Speed Racer’s a good one. Glad you didn’t link because I don’t remember enough for a mindloop.

@Valerie111 Remember. THAT’S what you get when you mention the J5 around me. (shudder)

@augustlan I don’t mind a little Monkeys, but in my mind it’s linked to The Banana Splits theme…they were back-to-back afternoon entertainment when I was a kid.

ibstubro's avatar

Enjoyed the song, @tom_g.! ONCE. I pity you if it’s looping.

:)

ibstubro's avatar

Yeah! @Jeruba I mentally play the Addams Family theme at least once a week! What a classic.

@ccrow We should all be so lucky to have something so mellow…like a silk ribbon when some are looping chainsaw tracks. ;-)

Katniss's avatar

Right this second? The theme song to Dora the Explorer. Damn that Swiper thread!

When I woke up this morning it was this song which I’m totally ok with. It’s one of my favorites at the moment.

ibstubro's avatar

Nice, @Katniss New to me, and I can see why you’d be totally okay with that! Thanks.

I don’t know Dora, and I’m not eager to find out. ;-)

Katniss's avatar

@ibstubro You are very lucky, indeed! My niece used to love Dora. It was horrible. However, it was not as bad as Barney!
The Avicii video I posted is my song of the week. lol I have it on pretty heavy rotation. Pretty catchy, huh?

ibstubro's avatar

@Katniss Yes, the Avicii is very nice!

Sorry in advance: I stopped THIS from playing a single note on MY computer, but it’s the most dreaded theme song of my life. lol

Katniss's avatar

@ibstubro Oh hell no! That is worse than Dora! I want to shove pencils in my eardrums now!

ibstubro's avatar

@Katniss HELL being the operative word in your statement.

When I was a little kid that came on right after one of our favorite shows. My sister or I one would sit right in front of the TV during the closing minute so we could change the channel before the first note of TNZR played. Sorry.

Katniss's avatar

I understand that totally! Awful awful theme song! I can remember it being stuck in my head when I was a kid. Ugh!! Now, 30 some years later, it’s there again! Arrrggggg!

ibstubro's avatar

There are, literally, certain songs that I deflect in my brain. Like I see them coming, and I bounce them back. I won’t dare type it again, but @Valerie111 got one of them stuck in her head above.

Coloma's avatar

Good morning singers….todays tune to start your morning loop is….

Havin’ my baaaaby,,,,,

Coloma the tune slinger strikes again. lol

ibstubro's avatar

@Coloma I happen to LIKE twangy classic country. Finally, even this, after decades of cringe. THAT took some conscious effort.

tedibear's avatar

“Step in Time” from the movie Mary Poppins. No idea why.

lol

dxs's avatar

@ucme Merciful neptune I remember that song and it’s ability to run through my head like crazy.

ibstubro's avatar

Ha! @ucme My Uploader won’t let me watch that trash here in the USA. ;-)

ucme's avatar

@dxs Yup, no one said it had to be good #earworm #makeitgoaway

dxs's avatar

I just can’t get it out of my head. Boy this song is all I think about.

filmfann's avatar

Thanks to @Blondesjon I currently have “Hands On The Buns” by Paul McCartney in my head (it’s a bootleg, where he actually calls it that).
