Why don't the latest versions of Facebook and Mavericks get along?

I’ve been having problems with my Facebook after downloading Mavericks and the latest version of Facebook. Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions for mending things?

I just went through Facebook on Mavericks via Safari, Google Chrome, and Firefox, and have not had any problems.

Many people have mentioned online that after they updated to OSX Mavericks they are no longer able to see the video chat button. It seems to be a widespread issue. Facebook may update their plugin soon.
