Over your lifetime have you lost more money than you have found, or found more than you have lost?

(disclaimer) This is an easy question where you don’t have to think any further than today to back when you 1st remember handling money in your youth. How much money you lost has no reflection on your intelligence, luck, if there are any, worth as a human, etc.

Thinking back from now until when you 1st remember handling money, does it seem as if you lost more money over your lifetime than what you found, or found more than you have lost? This is actual money, not deals or items you intended on purchasing but the transaction never went through. I am talking of actual money, you left the burger joint with X amount of money in bills and change, when you got home you had less and never found it; it came up missing and you have no clue where, or when.

Saying as though I’m the guy who still leaps for joy when I find a nickel on the ground, I’ve found more than I lost.

I recently had a similar question and I have to say I’m with @dxs. I only remember the times I’ve found money, not the times I’ve lost it.

I once lost a $20 bill, and rather than fret over spilled milk, I shared the joy of the potential finder. :)

I have always looked at the ground ahead of me while walking and yet I still stumble or trip on cracks in cement or asphalt surfaces. I have found money (coins) on the ground in amounts from 1 cents to $2 (we have $1 and $2 coins) and bills from $5 to $20. While the total at any one time was no more than $20. I don’t recall losing any significant amount of money. I have found lost money quite often but have hardly ever lost any. I am not rich by any means. I have often redirected found cash to worthy causes. It just seems like the right thing to do.

I’ve drank more than the two combined.

Definitely found more than I’ve lost.

Apart from small change, I can’t recall a time money has gone missing on my watch. If I’m parting with cash, I’m doing so painstakingly and deliberately.

Once, I found $80 in the parking lot. four 20s, must have fallen out of someone’s pocket. I sat around for a while and no one came back for it. That $80 ended up becoming 90% of my son’s cloth diaper stash.

Lost more. I don’t actually remember finding any.

@ibstubro And it was quite a joyful occasion.

There has been more loss but not due to carelessness, a thief snatched my purse and ran off when I was returning from the bank. I lost around $1000. Other than that I don’t remember any significant loss or findings.

That bites, @YARNLADY. You need to follow me and @dxs around more.
