Do you have the traditional snow scenes, santas in their sleighs and the usual cold climate visuals there? 7:00 PM Christmas Eve. here. New York State, USA.

Grandparents arrived but it’s still Christmas Eve. It’s pretty mild and green outside.

Still 8 hours to go.

Still Christmas Eve here – 7:49 PM EST in sunny Florida. Well, moony Florida.

7:52 on Christmas Eve in frigid Michigan
Merry Christmas everybody.

@gailcalled last time I was out and about at Christmas time Santa was still very much associated with a sleigh, reindeer etc.

5:45 San Francisco. Gift wrapping stuff. Out of ribbon. Obligatory “Wizard of OZ” while the wife is popping corn. God’s in his heaven

Christmas Eve in Florida. First one with no family members but with a friend. Strange but doing ok.

Merry Whatever everyone!

9 pm in NY and I’m at my parents’ house, waiting for my daughter to be in for the night. I need to go out to the car and bring in the bags of gifts. We had dinner and I’m ready to pass out.

Merry Christmas to all of my fluther friends!

9:05 PM EST in Florida. Hubby and little one are playing old-school Donkey Kong in little one’s bedroom. Puppy is apparently nipping at ankles at important moments, judging by the shouting.

I’m making homemade Christmas “crackers” out of leftover wrapping paper and wrapping paper tubes. Considering asking a Question about what fortunes to put in.

Should I have tea or coffee with my whiskey?

6:00 PM PST here in Southern California. Today it was about 80 degrees and sunny, so we kind of have that typical Australian Christmas weather right now. Still Christmas eve.

Christmas eve here. The kids are in bed, the presents are wrapped under the tree, and the cookies have been dug into. We had some snow this afternoon, so there is a nice white covering outside. Now just to wait for the kids to wake up in the morning.

janbb's avatar

@Seaofclouds I remember when the kids got older and we had to wait for them to go to bed before we could put out their presents from Santa!

Santa had already arrived at my house, dressed in a UPS uniform. He brought only one gift, but it was exactly the one I wanted.

God bless us, everyone.

marinelife's avatar

It’s still Christmas Eve here. Thank you for the wishes. Same to you.

Everyday is Christmas where I am, because I always have that fun, wintry spirit.

Adirondackwannabe's avatar

Just barely above zero F, 10:30 and no Santa sightings on the scanner or the news. Maybe no Christmas this year? Time will tell.

Just watched—as I do every year on Christmas Eve—the 1951 British version of “Scrooge” (aka “A Christmas Carol). And—as I do every year—I teared up in the same places: when Scrooge wakes up on Christmas Day and realizes he’s alive and happy and changed; when he gives his housekeeper a coin and a raise; when he goes to his nephew’s house and meets his niece-in-law for the first time and then polkas with her; and when he greets Cratchit at the office pretending to be the same old miser and admits he’s “come to his senses” and promises to help Bob’s family. Ah, it’s such a wonderful movie.

I’ve got “It’s a Wonderful Life” queued up for tomorrow.

Getting close! It’s 11:31 pm on Christmas Eve here in the eastern United States. Earlier, I wrapped presents while flipping between It’s a Wonderful Life and Chopped All-Stars. It’s pretty dang cold here.

Merry Christmas, jellies!

Getting close here on the plaines, nearly midnight. It’s just me and my ‘tween daughter. Since learning of Santa, Christmas has become a bit tarnished for her. I told her this year she could play Santa. She’s waiting for me to go to sleep so she can fill our stockings. I’m giving a bit of the past back to her. I’m being a trifle difficult about it Tee hee!
We’ve been watching all sorts of Christmas shows, Charlie Brown, Frosty, The Man Who Saved Christmas, The Christmas Shoes, Muppet Christmas, and so many more. We start after dinner Thanksgiving, watching one from time to time, then go into marathon mode on Christmas eve through Christmas Day. I’ve accumulated so many, we no longer get through them all, and switch off on some every couple of years.

MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL, may each of you have a happy and cozy holiday.

12:43 AM – gifts under the tree, little one has already waked up and spoiled the Big Reveal, and the husband is in the middle of a possible-hospital-gauge asthma attack with no medicine in sight.

FML.

It’s 12:05 AM – that officially makes it Christmas. I should go to bed because Santa won’t come if I’m still sitting here at the computer.

It’s just gone 9am in England! Merry Christmas all.

8:55 a.m. Xmas morning in sunny CA.
Had my Xmas last night with my daughter. Had lots of fun. Ate veggie pizza and avocado salad, went for the local Xmas light tour, spectacular

Then back here to open gifts, play a game and watched the classic Steve Martin & John Candy film, ” Planes, trains & automobiles.” Laughed so hard we almost wet the couch. lol
Stayed up til midnight, a fun evening. :-)

It is 2:47PM EST Chtistmas Day here Massachusetts.

Last night, Christmas Eve, was spent at my house eating fish and exchanging gifts.

Today, we basked in the excited glow of my daughter taking in all that Santa brought her.

Now, we are at my in-laws having eaten pork roast and stuffed shells. Everyone is napping at the moment.

This evening we are to go to my nephew’s so the kids can hang together and exchange Santa notes. It is likely there will be dessert.

He did go to the ER last night. They got him stabilised, but almost admitted him.

Of course, the scrips he was given and needs come to over $500 per month, but his sister offered to pay for the 6 months of nebulizer refills and the 5-day course of Prednizone to get his strength back up as a Christmas gift (that’s $90 right there).

It’s 4:00 in Sunny Florida, and I’m about to take the turkey out of the oven to rest, and make a second batch of green bean casserole since the first didn’t make it to completely cooked stage before certain members of the household who will go unnamed ate the whole dang thing right out of the saucepan.

gondwanalon's avatar

Not quite. There are 364 more days until Christmas.

stanleybmanly's avatar

@Seek Kolinahr Are hubby’s asthma attacks triggered by allergies? And are the unnamed criminals furry pets?

Seek's avatar

His triggers are mold (out house is full of it) and cigarette smoke, and cold air. He’s also picked up a minor Upper Respiratory Virus, which always brings on attacks.

Kardamom's avatar

@Seek_Kolinahr I’m so sorry to hear about your hubs. Is he feeling any better now? Do you guys rent? If so, your landlord should have to have a mold abatement team come in and fix that situation. That happened to a friend of mine, they were put up in a motel, while the work was done. Mold is not a habitable situation, especially for someone like your hubs.

We’re in California, and they have specific laws regarding mold abatement, but I just did a bit of research Here and it looks like there’s only a handful of states that have specific laws regarding mold abatement and landlords, so that kind of sucks. Take a look and see if your state applies and what you might be able to do.

If you can forsee it in the near future, you guys should try to move to a mold-free place.

Seek's avatar

That’s the thing. There are so many problems with this place that if I reported it to Code Enforcement, it would probably be condemned, and we can’t afford to move. Rock+hard place. I used to work for county code enforcement, so I’ve already got the report letter written, for when we do finally move out. I hope this bastard (my landlord) loses every run down property he victimizes people with.

He is feeling better now, and now I have his cold. Fortunately I’m not asthmatic, so only annoying, not life-threatening. He starts a new job tomorrow, and we’re optimistic that things are looking up.
