Am I just confused or was I just growing up?

Asked by RockerChick14 (951points) January 27th, 2014 from iPhone

I have a crush on a boy but I was talking to a girl about something at school and I thought about how I could just kiss her. I remember how when I was little my favorite character was always the girl I thought was pretty or beautiful. I would watch this one movie just I thought the boy’s girlfriend was beautiful but yet at the same time I thought a boy on a tv show was cute.

Sigh

Human sexuality is a fluid continuum. And teen-dom is a seething cauldron of hormones.

Time will settle out how you feel. Don’t close off any options yet.

It’s normal to feel like that. The confusion that you are having now is just a phase. It’s the raging hormones, you’re just discovering yourself sexually. Don’t stress too much about it now. You have your whole life ahead of you and you will learn that in a few years.

Lots of people are attractive at various ages. Isn’t that good news? Your question is lovely. You have lots of good times to look forward to.

You felt great affection for her in the moment because she was actively paying attention to you and you were feeling appreciated, plus probably both of you were full of hormones and putting out pheromones, enough that it was being picked up by your olfactory sense.

So, to answer your question, you were both a little confused and you are just growing up. The great thing is you don’t have to commit to any preference now, all you need to do is be nice, smile, and treat people the way you’d like to be treated.

Those thoughts are very normal and don’t necessarily mean you are gay or bi. You very well could be, but you shouldn’t feel pressured to figure it all out now. If you have feelings for a guy, then feel free to pursue those feelings. If it doesn’t work out, then you might want to experiment with girls.

There’s not really any way to tell definitively whether you are gay or bi until you experiment. I’ve had girls tell me they were 100% sure they were bi but later said it was too weird being with girls. That is, they find themselves attracted to women but do not enjoy being with them. That could be your case, or you may turn out to enjoy relationships with women. Just let love happen as it happens.

Just growing up in a nebulous storm where one never knows what is up or down as it was back in the day, had you grew up then there would have been no confusion.
