Is The Lego Movie worth seeing in 3D?

Asked by rockfan (14627points) February 8th, 2014 from iPhone

And is it post-converted 3D? Normally I would look up the reviews myself, but I don’t want the movie to be spoiled for me, I’ve been looking forward to this movie for a while. If anyone can find out if the 3D is worth it (without spoiling anything) I’ll be highly appreciative!

A friend took his boys last night and said he’d wished he’d seen it in 3D, but one of the kids won’t wear the glasses.

Not totally related, but I got a couple 3d glasses off ebay for the red/blue type of 3d and the trailer on youtube was in it LOL

I didn’t think any movies still used that.

I disagree, I thought Life of Pi was incredible in 3D.

If you’re into foreground trickery go for it.

We try to see most movies in 3D if that is how they were conceptualized and filmed. We’re lucky to have an IMAX theater not too far away. If I was on a tighter budget, I’d probably skip a lot of them and just wait for video – but if I’m going to pay theater prices, I want the full spectacle.

3D makes some movies really immersive, Toy Story 3 for example. But I do admit that most movies in 3D look completely awful.
