Which ice do you find nice?

Asked by Hypocrisy_Central (26879points) February 15th, 2014

When you want to chill a drink which ice do you think is nicer, to have ice chipped off a block with jagged and irregular edges, cubes, machined crushed ice, or cubes that are barrel shaped, wedge shaped, etc?

I like the extruded ice that looks like caterpillar poops.

I like lots of ice in my drinks and really don’t care what shape it is, so I guess all ice is nice, as long as you don’t have to drive on it.

“Fire and Ice”

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

I prefer chilling a beverage in the freezer until it becomes slightly slushy. I use cubes when I don’t have time to wait for slush.

I actually prefer cold drinks to be very cold and remain cold. Since the quickest way to cool a beverage is to expose the drink to as much frozen surface area as possible, I like chipped ice and plenty of it.

I don’t like my beverages very cold, and world prefer a larger piece of ice – regardless of shape – so that it doesn’t go in my mouth when drinking the way chips will.

I prefer warm and hot beverages. Alternately, feel free to shake my liquor and strain off the ice. Thanks.
