Is competition necessary for people?

Asked by ahro0703 (381points) February 21st, 2014

Competing with other people is increasing these days. People compete in studyng, excercising, even in games, people compete. What do you think about this changing world? Do you think competition is necessary, or not?

What about cooperation? It’s as much a part of human behavior as competition is. I think both are necessary.

@marinelife Agree. I hate competition. So stressful.

Sure, for extraverts it is one of the major things to take care of themselves and improve, although for intraverts it might a pain you know where. I mean, of course it depends on a person, to me competition is a challenge that makes me try to improve myself, maybe for others it has an opposite effect.
