YouTube - What are people watching?

Asked by MarcoDemarco (211 points ) March 21st, 2014

I’d like to find stats/analytics of what people are watching on YouTube as it pertains to business. Where can I find information on the following:

* Are people watching how-to videos?
* If so, how many?
* How long are the most watched videos (1–2 min or 5–10min)?

As always, thank you very much. You Fluther folk are always good to me.

I have been hooked lately on the old B&W Twilight Zone episodes, my childhood fav.
Also lots of animal videos, from funny to rescue animals, especially starving horses.
Being an animal nut and horse lover/owner for years, I go for the happy ending rescue stories.
I have also watched some stillborn infant, memento mori videos.

I find them incredibly poignant. Our culture so fears death but being present and loving at the time of death is the greatest gift we can give another.

I “watch” mostly music, because I mostly just listen and don’t pay attention. And then the occasional internet silliness type videos.

I never watch a how to video on you tube. I never watched how to shows on TV, why start now?
