How can I watch PBS NOVA online in Canada?

Asked by talljasperman (21916points) March 27th, 2014

I tried the PBS NOVA site and it doesn’t load up. I would like to know about physics, chemistry, and astronomy.

I think the only way you can do it is through a virtual private network (VPN). PBS is very specific about not allowing international viewers to stream through their website, even though most Canadian cities close to the border can capture broadcasts from nearby PBS stations.

If you don’t want to go that route, you may be interested in streaming shows from TVO, which broadcasts a lot of the same series (though not NOVA). There’s a lot of good stuff there.

Given your interest, you could try the brand new Cosmos: http://www.globaltv.com/cosmos/video/#cosmos/video/full+episodes

Also, you should try youtube. Or, if you can get past all the spam, ads and potential (but not guaranteed) viruses, you could try: http://www.free-tv-video-online.me/internet/nova/

I had to find a way around this too. BBE was featured in an episode on lightning and I couldn’t see it from Norway. Found it on you tube.

I’m sorry. I love nova, and had no clue that it was unavailable outside. If I were you, I would try using a proxy site.
