What's your favorite Forest Gump scene?

Asked by Dan_Lyons (5527points) April 20th, 2014

There are so many excellent scenes. Bulldozing Jenny’s house to the ground. Forest beating up Jenny’s lover in the car because he thought she was being hurt. The napalm going off directly behind him as he carries Bubba out of the boonies.

For me the best scene is when Jenny 1st yells, “Run Forest, run!” and young Forest runs right out of his braces.

Of course some people just hate this movie, so feel free to voice your animosity towards it and tell us why you hate it.

None, that film is truly awful & massively overrated.

Every single one. I love that movie. One of the best soundtracks as well.

My husband and I quote this movie all the time. “We had a little bit of stinging rain, and big ole fat rain, rain that flew in sideways, and sometimes the rain even seemed to come up from underneath.” And, without fail, every time my dad has ice cream….“Lt. Dan, I got you done ice cream. Lt. Dan, ice creeeeam!”

The scene when Bubba dies in his arms and at the end when he visits Jenny’s grave are the best non-funny scenes. The latter usually makes me cry.

Also, “I’m sorry I had a fight in the middle of your Blank Panther party” and “I’m not a smart man, but I know what love is.”

I love it when he drinks too much Dr. Pepper and has to leave to pee when he is meeting JFK.

Well, I was going to make a joke about it being a shameless rip-off of Being There, but I see by your topics that you beat me to it. ;)

@dappled_leaves I love the end of Being There when he walks on the water!

I liked it the first time when it was called little big man.

Way at the end, when the credits came on and the first words were “The End”.

Slowest, most pandering, most uninteresting move I have seen in the last 20 years.
