Where are the failed crop circles?

Asked by robmandu (21331points) July 2nd, 2008

So I see where pi is represented to 10 digits as a fractal-based crop circle. And I think to myself, “Hey, that’s cool.” And then I think, “Man, there’s a hundred different ways I’d mess up attempting that.”

Which got me wondering if anyone’s gone to the trouble of cataloging the screw ups of the crop circle world? While some are unexplained, many are known as hoaxes or even simply just examples of how to do it. I guess I’d be most interested in the unexplained ones (weaving of stalks and all that chicanery) that appear to have been executed poorly.

that’s probably the most interesting question i have seen on fluther in a while
; )
I would think that if they messed up, they could just do some recalculating and make it bigger, or turn it in to something else….maybe?

Brilliant question, Rob. Hoping someone comes up with an answer for us.

I don’t know but I wonder about the high radiation readings inside them.
