I don’t see why it would be an awful thing to buy a ticket now and then as long as the person buying the tickets realize it is for purely entertainment value only as the odds of winning are astronomical.

Two things – don’t count on winning and don’t spend more than you can spare. It’s sad when I see people spending big bucks every day on the morning number, the afternoon number, the evening number, and expensive scratch offs, and they can’t afford food.

They make me so angry. The only people who buy them are the ones who can’t afford to but if you can find room in your budget it is not my job to stand in the way. I feel like it’s a poor tax.
As a friend, I feel it’s my duty to remind you that it is entertainment only and your chances are better of being hit by lightning than winning.

I am on disability and I play once in awhile. But yeh, I know it’s mostly for entertainment and a glimmer of a dream.

It doesn’t bug me as long as it within reason. It isn’t actually a bad thing if the poor/disabled are able to have some fun through either lottery tickets or a pint of ice cream bought with food stamps. Shit, at least with lottery tickets the money goes back to the state.

You may waste your money as you wish. Just don’t ask for more.

Mathematically it is money wasted that they can’t afford but the minimum purchase would be fine to keep the dream alive.

Cheap entertainment as long as they are just buying like one ticket every few days or so.

A lesson in mathematics should be on the ticket like the warnings on cigarettes

Update I purchased one $20 ticket and won $50… $30 profit.

Good for you!
once in awhile your intuition is right on!
But don’t make it a habit.
