I do not think that I would.

I have never been to N.Y.C in my life but if I did and was close , yeah probably would stop in.

I live in New York, knew people who died there and a close family member had direct contact in the clean up. I don’t think I would want to go to the museum. I remember what happened that day quite a bit.

Personally I think the admission price is outrageous. I can afford the ticket but I think there will be many tourists who will not be able to afford the entrance fee. Especially young families.

I also think the Gift Shop located right where you can’t miss it is very tacky. If out of town relatives of mine want to go I will tell them how to get there by subway but I won’t be going with them.

Nope, nope, nah, never will, now where is Madison Square Gardens?

ragingloli's avatar

Only if it is above the 100th floor.

I always assumed I would, but now….I don’t know.

No.

I did go to the Oklahoma City memorial passing through on a road trip. I needed gas and food, and it was free and the #1 attraction on TripAdvisor. For me, it was basically an experience of an architectural/design space, and I didn’t find it all that beautiful, although the materials were capable of achieving it.

No – the day is far too close and real to me. I don’t need graphic reminders.

By the way, the article was great.

I don’t know. I was there a bunch of times, and I’d like to remember them as they were. They were cool.

@BeenThereSaidThat I’m sorry you told me that. I had guessed that admission would be free – after all, it seems to me that it should have somewhat of a church atmosphere, given where it’s built. And a gift shop? Really?? Pardon my ignorance, and maybe I don’t want to know the answer to this, but does the Holocaust museum have a gift shop? If you bring proof of kinship to a victim, do you get a discount?

I’m just disgusted.

No. Why would I want to go to a museum dedicated to the people enslaving the world with their greedy crooked nasty financial tricks?

chyna's avatar

@kevbo I went to the Oklahoma memorial too. I think it’s a good idea to have a memorial and I was impressed with it and glad I went, but will never visit it again.

@Dan_Lyons “the people enslaving the world with their greedy crooked nasty financial tricks?”

Think that applies to the people in the planes? Think it applies to the rescuers who perished in those buildings? For that matter think it applies to everyone who worked in those buildings? Have you considered that many folks working there were simply trying to do a day’s work for a day’s pay?

Dan_Lyons's avatar

I think it applies to people working on the stock exchange and in the banking community.

It is regrettable that so many innocent people died in their attempts to rescue those in the Trade Center Bldgs.
It is regrettable that so many people simply trying to do a day’s work for a day’s pay would commit the atrocities of the Enron Scandal. That so many bankers and mortgage brokers and real estate sellers would lie cheat and steal hundreds of millions of human beings’ pensions and jobs and destroy their families globally, just to make a few extra bucks.
I find it regrettable that the wealthy elite in cohort with the evil scum Bush family would find a way to convince Israelis to pose as Arab terrorists and fly passenger jets into the Twin towers. I find it regrettable that these same scummy people would plant thermite charges in the Twin towers (& bldg #7) and implode them and then claim burning jet fuel was the cause. (Oh really, then why did bldg #7 implode when no jet hit it?)
Yes, I find much regrettable about that day @Darth_Algar
