If McDonalds and KFC are repacking old meat with new labels in China, do you think they have been doing that to us in the rest of the world for some time now?

Asked by Dan_Lyons (5527points) July 21st, 2014

Do you think fast food restaurants (sic) are just another method for the wealthy elite to trim down the overpopulation problem for which they themselves are responsible?

Well, to be clear it wasn’t McDonalds or KFC, it was the company supplying them meat.

I would not at all be surprised to find that happening by a US meat distributor though.

What in the world are you meaning by just another method for the wealthy elite to trim down the overpopulation problem for which they themselves are responsible? Don’t make suppositions without merit.

This supposition has plenty of merit Zen.

The wealthy elite have zero interest in trimming the surplus population. It is the excess population that renders (no pun intended) old meat, as well as the fast food industry immensely profitable. An impoverished bulging underclass is REQUIRED if there are to be billionaires.

Dan_Lyons's avatar

Yes @stanleybmanly Well said, even if it is completely erroneous. The wealthy elite have the greatest reason of all to rid themselves of much of the less well to do folks.

They know they need more room on the planet for new consumers, so out with the old and in with the new.

The same goes for older employees (slaves). The newer ones can be started at a much less/lower salary than those who have been on the job forever.

I’ve heard this “population control” nonsense my whole life. Considering that the world’s population hit 7 billion a few years ago and is estimated to hit 8 billion in around a decade, if there’s some plot by the elite to control the population then they’re doing a pretty piss poor job of it.

Dan_Lyons's avatar

^^ Actually they’re doing a darn fine job of it if you count all the lives lost in wars, to smoking, in car accidents, AIDS (and other man-made diseases) and on and on and on….

If it weren’t for all these deaths (many brought about on purpose) the world’s population would be much higher (higher mathematics).

@Dan_Lyons: “The same goes for older employees (slaves). The newer ones can be started at a much less/lower salary than those who have been on the job forever.”

I don’t think someone who has been at McDonalds for 15 years makes a whole lot more than someone who just starts. Their raises (for the average counter help employee) are minimal – fifteen cents per hour or something similar.

Dan_Lyons's avatar

Gee @jca maybe not. But there are millions of other jobs where the wealthy elite/business owners will appreciably cut costs by dumping higher paid employees who have ten to twenty or more years on the job for new hires they can start at far less.

marinelife's avatar

They didn’t do it—it was done to them by an unscrupulous suppliers.

Gee @Dan_Lyons, why so nasty?

Dan_Lyons's avatar

I was being incredibly nice @jca. I wonder why you took it as nasty. Hmmmmmm

@Dan_Lyons The elite may well have reasons to rid themselves of older workers accustomed to a living wage , but this is possible only if there is a labor surplus, and nothing guarantees a labor surplus like OVERPOPULATION! I assume that by “rid themselves”, you merely mean fire them

Dan_Lyons's avatar

@stanleybmanly No Stanley, they are systematically killing off the fringes of the overpopulation. Why do you think they invented AIDS? Why do you think they immunize children with chemicals guaranteed to kill off or make autistic a certain percentage of those immunized? Why do you think Air America (CIA) flooded the ghettos with heroin during the Vietnam War?

And with all the jobs in the US gone (or lots and lots of them) what else would you call it but a labor surplus?

stanleybmanly's avatar

Yes we have a labor surplus, but it’s a joke compared to the situations in the places where our jobs have gone. And the reason WE now have a labor surplus is exactly because there are better than a billion Chinese willing to fight over the crumbs that fall from the tables of the plutocrats. I’m not quite ready to accept conspiracy theories involving the “invention” of AIDS, but the minute it is confirmed that the kids of the rich and powerful are no longer being vaccinated, or even that they suffer lower levels of autism, I’ll be in your corner. As for the CIA’s entry into the cocaine business, wasn’t that adventure cooked up to fund Mr. Reagan’s contras in Nicaragua?

Dan_Lyons's avatar

Reagan was not yet president in 1968 – 1973 Which was Nixon’s time and so no, the cocaine and heroin we stole from the Vietnamese and imported to the US at that time had nothing to do with Ollie North and his scam. That occurred during Reagan’s 2nd term in office in 1986 or so.

The heroin we brought into the US during the early 70’s and late 60s was used to flood the ghettos so as to kill off the black people. Unfortunately for many wealthy white people, their children wanted to get high so badly that many of them drove into the ghettos and bought heroin from dealers there. Many of these well-to-do youngsters died or wished they had died after becoming addicted, strung out and even thieves stealing from their own families and friends (and stealing some seriously high end merchandise I might add).

As for autism and vaccines, keep in mind that this information, so far, has been completely blacked out of the mainstream media. See this It is a story about the CDC caught hiding data showing mercury in vaccines linked to autism.

Health Impact News Editor Comments

In a press release issued recently, one that almost no mainstream media sources have bothered to report, it was announced that Dr. Brian Hooker had finally received documents from the CDC through a Freedom of Information Act that revealed the CDC had access to data linking Thimerosal in vaccines to autism, non-organic sleep disorders, and speech disorders.”

This information is very damaging to the CDC, which has stated for years that there are no studies linking the mercury of Thimerosal in vaccines to autism.”

The mainstream media’s official position regarding vaccines and autism has been that it has been “proven that there is no link”, and Dr. Andrew Wakefield is used as the standard scapegoat being presented as a “disgraced doctor” who supposedly got caught fabricating his study. Of course, Dr. Andrew Wakefield’s study has been replicated in at least 28 other studies, and no case has ever been won against Dr. Wakefield in a court of law. Litigation is still pending, and one of the doctors who was a co-author in the study has been completely exonerated in the U.K.:

Yet, the man who supposedly conducted studies for the CDC proving that vaccines do not cause autism, is a wanted criminal for stealing millions of dollars from the CDC, and is still on the run from the law. But that story is seldom, if ever, reported in the mainstream media. (See: CDC Vaccine Link to Autism Scandal: The Wrong Man was Condemned)”

Somewhat doubtful, to answer the question about Shanghai meat.

I think that US inspection and the US regulatory apparatus – to say nothing of the US legal system – would mitigate against that.

It may not happen, but a far lesser chance than in the far east.

The link to vaccinations and autism has been debunked. Long ago. No need to drag that beaten horse. It is dead. As for the red meat industry, it is horrendous. Eating less red meat can do more to help our planet than giving up all the petrol cars.
