Hmmm, let’s see, I’d be 5 years old so my music selection was essentially shit. My favorite songs back then were

20 years ago was 1994…I wasn’t alive yet. Although I remember hearing plenty of songs from that era, I’ll do songs from around 15 years age because I was alive to remember popular songs form the turn of the millenium. I’d have to think of this for a while to get a real list, but here’s a decent list* from the few seconds I just took to jog my memory of songs. I think they’re laughable in a sense that I can’t believe I actually liked them.

I have remarkably good and unchanging taste. Usually if I like a song, I like it 20 years later.

I was 34 and I have no idea, but I’m a little like @filmfann and my taste in music is pretty eclectic and hasn’t changed radically over the years, always an exception to the rule though, I shall have to give it some thought…

I liked a lot of sad music because my marriage was crumbling.

I’m 23 years old, so probably Mary Had a Little Lamb or Twinkle Twinkle. What laughable songs. I can’t believe I liked them so much.

20 years ago, I was into 10,000 Maniacs and Frente! Now I think they are “meh” and “terrible,” respectively.

I looked up the top 100 billboard songs of 1994 and Here they are. Now, of the top 100 I can recall:
#9 All that she wants by Ace of Base;
#18 Can you feel the love tonight by Elton John;
#21 Baby I love your way by Big Mountain;
#38 I would do anything thing for love by Meatloaf:
#40 Because the Night by 10000 Maniacs;
#43 Come to my Window by Melissa Etheridge:
#49 Linger by The Cranberries:
#50 Loser by Beck;
#54 “Streets of Philadelphia by Bruce Springsteen
#68 Crazy by Aerosmith;
#77 Mary Jane’s Last Dance by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers;
#89 “December, 1963 (Oh, What a Night) by The Four Seasons:
and finally
#91 I’m the Only One by Melissa Etheridge.

And of all these, the only ones I would go out of my way to listen to would be the one by Meatloaf, the two by Melissa Etheridge and maybe the Tom Petty one so my list is sooooo much longer than three (around 9 or 10).

A total of 13 out of 100 songs. All in all I would say that musically, 1994 sucked worst than the hair bands of the 80’s.
