Do you want to buy online or shop retail where you live? If the latter, what city?

eBay has gone downhill as a source for vintage clothing – the site has been mistreating sellers for too long, and the vintage categories are over-run with blatantly new stuff and inexperienced vintage sellers who think a 50s dress with pit stains and a handful of holes is in “grest vintage condition”.

Mybabyjo and stopstaring sell vintage style clothing, not actual vintage.

I would recommend heading for http://www.vintagefashionguild.org. They are a collective of vintage sellers and experts. You have to prove that you know what you’re doing and have good business practices to become a member. The site has links to 100+ member seller’s websites, a vintage label resource and a great forum that’s open to friends of VFG as well as members.

Try http://etsy.com a fairly new site/company that specializes in vintage, homemade items.

etsy has become a good alternative to ebay for trendy vintage. Their primary focus is handmade, but there is a large vintage category that coexists like the proverbial red headed stepchild. Many former ebay vintage sellers are now selling on etsy, including me.

Search on etsy is a problem though.
