Do you believe in negative energy/vibes in objects?

Asked by ZEPHYRA (21750points) November 12th, 2014

The other day I heard someone saying she didn’t want to wear a specific piece of jewelery that had been given to her by a certain person. She claimed that whenever she wore it she felt sick, anxious and somewhat uncomfortable. Do you believe objects carry a person’s energy and can somehow “pass it over” to others?

No. That is nothing more than superstition.

If the person believes that, then it is true.

I don’t believe so.

Sometimes I might not want to be reminded of someone, but that’s not the object itself carrying a certain vibe, that’s me not wanting to see the object.

Right…what @jca said. It is not the object itself but ones reaction to whatever negative emotions are triggered by it. Now certain people yes! Being affected by peoples negativity and bad vibes is real. Very.

Of course not.
@flutherother So if a person believes in unicorns, they exist? Think about it.

No. I’ll believe it when I can measure it.

Unless it’s a higher level radioactive gamma ray source. Then I avoid it like the plague.
(But I can measure that so it’s not really just a belief.)

What ever happened to Hitler’s personal effects. ( like clothing and diary’s). If anything was negative than his britches would registered. Hitler’s underware.

Objects, no. People, yes.

Sometimes there are objects that are reminders of a negative person place or happening but then it’s the memory itself which carries the negativity, the object merely serves as a bridge to the memory.

@josie It’s not quite the same thing. The piece of jewellery in the question is real as are the feelings of the person wearing it. You can’t discount someone’s feelings the way you can discount unicorns. Experiencing a unicorn is something that might be shared but someone’s feelings are always their own.

I don’t think so no, however, I would not accept a second hand engagement ring. I just feel that there is something about a ring like that. It makes no sense to me, but I ask myself why is that ring there and what energy does it hold. So, I guess then, my answer is yes!
