The Fat Tum of the Opera?

Frightening would be a better word.

Entertaining maybe, but it’ll never happen. For one thing, Oprah is a buffoon – the intellect of a bullfrog.

As entertaining as watching ½ of the Titanic sink. Or watching your significant other blow one leg off with a hand grenade.

@elbanditoroso Buffoon or not, the elimination of the need for campaign funding would make for a VERY interesting race.

If that happens the United States can just close shop. We’re done for.

As much as I like Oprah she is not very bright when it comes to science and I have no idea what she knows about international politics, but I’m guessing not much. I would hope no one would seriously consider her to be President, and basically the VP should be able to be President. That’s the main point of the VP position.

I’ll go off on a tangent for a minute. When Ronald Reagan was shot I lived about 30 minutes from DC. My patents worked for the federal government. I remember we went out to lunch that day and he said, “in other countries there could easily be civil unrest in a situation like this.” I hadn’t thought of it being so young at the time, but it’s true. That we have a clear law about who takes office if the President is incapacitated is a very serious thing. The VP should be someone we have confidence in and is capable.

I did a search for experienced politicians named Oprah.

I did not find any.

Clinton…

I do not want any President that acts and sounds like a smug, overbearing mother.

^ The clear law that @JLeslie is speaking of states that if a US President is unable to fulfill his or her duty due to a health emergency Alexander Haig is placed in charge.

@SecondHandStoke Oprah Winfrey She manages a large empire and is almost a billionaire.

^ That would be great if she were to run on a platform of fiscal responsibility and economic growth.

But we all know that’s not what she would do.

There are very many better candidate choices that can apply their personal success experience to better the country.

Why do you think she wouldn’t run on fiscal responsibility? Her husband brought the country’s deficit in line. When she was analyzing our health care system she was trying to logical answers for less expensive care. Like home health care vs. hospital and many other possibilities to help patients and bottom lines.

^ Because other “more important issues” would be a greater draw for the obvious party.

Don’t be so sure. I’m a democrat, I wanted Hillary, and I was interested in the Tea Party when they first started, because I was disgusted with the fiscal irresponsibility, just like I was disturbed by the deficit growing when Reagan was President. Then I saw the Tea Party filled up with right wingers and uber libertarians and I couldn’t go there, but I still want fiscal responsibility.

Of all the people I talk to it is republicans who more often want to cut taxes and don’t care if we can’t pay for things. It’s like the guy with a credit score of 400 charging up credit cards. He doesn’t care if he can’t pay for it.

The town I lived in in TN the some if the elected officials said they would always vote no on taxes even when taxes would make my total bills cheaper! They didn’t even understand the math they just knew other people liked to hear no taxes.
