A week. Wait..that was a fast.

A day.

Today I was up at 9, but I didn’t eat until 2:30.

2 days just a real super busy time in my life, starting a new job getting my first bank loan, and a bunch of other things.
but that was like thirty years ago, longest lately is maybe skipping breakfast or lunch.

I’m confused about the distinction between fasting and going without food? Going without food is the definition of fasting…

I’ve technically gone 2 months with almost no food. But I was still getting nutrition intravenously. Still, not eating for 2 months is very very not fun.

I think the difference is doing it deliberately and going without because you’re too busy or maybe broke or something.

Probably like 12 hours during a sleeping marathon

Two days, years ago when I was homeless. I finally just stole some food.

36 hours. I was in Las Vegas and broke. I was so hungry that my friend and I stole a bag of groceries out of some woman’s car so that we could eat SOMETHING!!! What did we get? Paper towels, napkins, and about 6 small cans of Ortega taco sauce.
And we didn’t have a can opener!!!

When I had weight loss surgery, I couldn’t eat from the night before, and then had the surgery on a Thursday and didn’t eat until Friday afternoon. So from Wednesday night to Friday afternoon.

@jca Oh yeah -when I had my two Caesareans, I also didn’t eat for a few days.

I never went anywhere with “out food”...it came with me, that’s how takeaway works.
The longest I went without food? I’ve no idea, a matter of hours i’d imagine.

In university during the summer of 2000 I had a month in which I only ate Ensure meal replacements.

Less than a day.

About 48 hours when I had appendicitis. I ate a little something in the morning, nothing the rest of the day. The next morning I went to the doctor and then straight to the hospital, and surgery was in the evening.

I finally had some broth the next morning.

I was sick in the hospital for a week for constipation I wasn’t allowed food until I made a bowel movement. It turned out to be 5 days from monday to friday.

2 days, and that same week I barely ate the 3rd, 4th and 5th day. Even the 6th and 7th were minimal. I lost ten pounds in a week. For several weeks following I ate less than a healthy amount, but I didn’t get scary thin, my weight leveled out. Around the 6 week mark I was able to eat a little more and gain some weight back, mostly because I had started taking some Xanax.

When I was15 years old I developed acute appendicitis.i was in intensive care for eleven days. I was rushed in for exploratory surgery on the eleventh day.it was then discovered that I had a
ruptured appendix . my appendix was protruding from the opposite side of my colon and that is why they had failed to diagnose the appendicitis .i was on a IV and I was not allowed to drink anything for nine days but they would wet my lips with a glycerine swab.i was not allowed the eat anything for eleven days.

Hm…15 hours. On weekends I’m done eating dinner by 7 and usually don’t eat breakfast until around 10. Of course, I’m sleeping for half that time. If we’re not counting that, my answer is that I haven’t gone long without food. I love eating and do it often. And I’ve never fasted and never would unless required for a medical procedure. I get extremely grumpy when hungry.
