What is the easiest way to find books that are out-of-print?

i'm a big fan of alibris.com ...you can find all sorts of out-of-print books and the prices are really reasonable.

I'm not sure what sort of out-of-print books you are looking for, and whether you want to own them or read them, but http://www.octavo.com/ is an interesting compendium of some very rare books, scanned and in PDF... a pet project of John Warnock, previous CEO of Adobe, and book collector. Not vast, and not all that easy to read... but pretty.

also if you know anyone who is a grad student, you can ask them to use inter-library loan to borrow books from any academic library in the country...which gives you access to basically every book ever published...
