How and where did my parents meet?

Every one of their generation is gone. Why didn’t I ask when I had the chance?
(Actually I could answer that last question. It was because I was a teenager and never thought to ask. My life was so much more relevant to me.)

Who killed Jon Bennet Ramsey?

@LuckyGuy I understand where you are coming from. While I have had my mom for a long time, there are so many things I wish I would had asked before she got Alzheimer’s. Her parents are of course long gone and so is her only sibling. My father’s siblings are also all gone.

Right @LuckyGuy and @anniereborn? So many questions I wish I had asked.

@anniereborn The finality of my father’s death ended any chance of finding out. Like your family, all of my elders are gone. Why did I wait?
Is your mother still alive? Are there moments of clarity? I have a Vimeo animation for you to watch. It is only 11 minutes. I was a basket case at the end – in a good way. Have tissues ready!

What was going on in my father’s head for all his life? I mean, who was he, really? Maybe it’s all simpler than I try to make it. He was a simple man at heart….but was he? See, I don’t really know that, do I? Because he really didn’t talk to me much, or anyone for that matter…
I have no doubt at all in my mind that he loved me so that is not the issue. I just really wish that I could have known him not only as a father, but as a human being. Our relationship would have been so much richer. I will never know because he’s been gone so many years now.

@LuckyGuy She has moments of present clarity. But if she can remember things from anything else, she is certainly not able to express it. Thankfully I do know a lot about her life as far back as her childhood. I also know quite a bit about my father and her together. But, there is always lots and lots more to know.

There are a ton of questions I have for our government, starting with Who Killed JFK and Why?
I have questions concerning the private lives of all four of my father’s grandparents before they met their spouses, especially my father’s maternal grandmother. They were interesting people with very eventful lives in the latter half of the 19th century and I don’t know much about them when they were young or much about the circumstances they grew up in.

I don’t think I would care much about things that have been. I imagine I’d be thinking about everyone close to me, and I’d hope they are all cared for and won’t miss me too much. Right now, I would be most concerned about my parents, sisters, grandma, and dogs. There are some friends that would miss me horribly, too. It may be an inflated sense of self-importance, but thinking about them dealing with my death makes me tear up.

@anniereborn The real link.

As much as I tried, there is nothing that pressing where if I did not learn the secret of it before I died I would feel like I missed something. There are tons of stuff I wish I had answers too, but they are not that important.

Is ragingloli a guy or a gal?

Earthbound_Misfit's avatar

There isn’t one thing. I have lots of things I want to achieve before I turn up my toes but if I don’t achieve them all, that’s okay. I’ll have ticked off as many as I can. I’m not missing any knowledge that I’ll feel upset about if I don’t have an answer. I’ve always felt once I cross that line, it won’t matter anymore. So I can’t think of one thing I’ll regret not knowing.

Mariah's avatar

@janbb I can help with that one – he’s a guy – or at least that’s what the consensus was back in the AiROW days.

janbb's avatar

@Mariah Good. Now I can die happily.
