Building a new life after a divorce

Finally approach a woman.

Left a dysfunctional marriage and built a new life. Financially I am screwed now after holding my own admirably for over 10 years post divorce, but I wouldn’t change a thing. My soul was dying and the high I experienced extracting myself from that prison lasted a solid 5 years. I can truly say I have known the greatest of joy and the darkest depths of sorrow. Very few people will, ever experience the absolute liberating joy I experienced during those first years of exoneration. haha

Public display of bravery: I striped down to my underwear in a police station as a form of protest.

Private display of bravery: I delivered my son through means of natural birth even though he was a ‘star gazer’.

Honestly don’t know how I did the things I did 4–5 years ago. Can’t see myself getting through that shit now. Used up my whole supply of courage back then, maybe.

Making the irreversible decision to get my colon removed. Dropping out of college to have that done. Going through with the surgeries even when my health got better after dropping out. Going back to college after that year of hell. Going to college in the first place, knowing how tenuous my health was and that this shit was probably inevitable.

Hot diggity damn am I glad that that isn’t my life anymore.

Emigrated to Australia on my own in my early 20s.

Ah… Also, I moved to New Zealand on my own when I was 19… that didn’t seem brave at the time. Then I moved to Norway on my own when I was 35.
