Do I need a permit to make light art?

Asked by Breefield (2733points) July 16th, 2008

I’m going to be doing some interactive light art on the side of a building downtown (projector and free-wifi), do I need to get a permit, aside from permission if the projection is on a more prominent wall.

What city are you doing it in?

I can’t find anything specific, but here’s
a place to at least start by making a phone call and asking them to direct to the correct person that might be able to answer it for you.

If you do get an oral answer that says it is fine, be sure to get the name of the person who told you that in case you find out a different story later.

Aside of what Seesul mentions the only issue I can forsee might be a time limit- just as many concerts are not allowed to perform past a certain hour in many cities.

Again this can be checked by contacting above.
