Post colonoscopy - are these normal symptoms?

In my experience yes, completely normal. Between the prep and the procedure itself, your system got pretty stressed. In a few days you’ll be back to normal. And congrats on the good results.

You completely cleaned out your bowels. Take some probiotics. With probiotics, you pay for what you get. There are many different strains of probiotics, and it takes time to rebuild them. Stay off the sugar (it just feeds yeast). And plan to take the probiotics long term.

@snowberry and I often disagree on the benefits of some aspects of alternative medicine, but she may be correct here. There is a lot of woo associated with probiotics, but there is some science behind the use of them in IBS.

@osoraro Actually my doctor recommended that I take probiotics after my colonoscopy. :)

I always go back to normal after a colonscopy. I wouldn’t worry too much though. Give it a few more days. Could be a coincidence.
