Is this expression out of style? You know; like "right on."?

Is saying, “he doesn’t have a clue” out of style now?

I still hear it. I don’t think it’s a saying that was ever overly in so it’s not overly out.

Among the youth maybe but generally it is still widely used!

I say, “he doesn’t have a scooby” or, ‘he doesn’t have the foggiest”

It’s an expression I use because it is self explanatory. To my mind it is neither “in” or “out” of style.

Not at all. I use it.

Sounds OK to me, but I’m old.

I don’t have a clue about what you mean.

Please tell me that ‘on accident’ is on the way out (and I’m BEGGING you, here).

@RadioFlyer “on accident”???

RadioFlyer's avatar

Yes. For some reason in recent years, MANY younger people say that something happened “on accident”, for some reason finding that ‘by accident’ just wouldn’t do anymore….

@RadioFlyer “on accident” sounds absolutely ridiculous! Who are these people? I’ve never heard it said here (NZ), I’m very pleased to say.

Well, mate, all I can say is….be ready.

During the past five years or so, I’ve heard it countless times as people walk down the hall at work, or while passing them in a grocery store, and in other places.

You are right….it does sound ridiculous, or to put it another way…..pretty damn stupid. But there you have it….
