The Red Cross offers courses on CPR as well as Life Saving badges for waterfront lifeguards.

Years ago I got my badge which enabled me to get some decent summer jobs where it was required. But the knowledge gained lasts forever and I’m pretty confident I could rescue someone from drowning if ever a situation necessitated it.

I keep meaning to take a CPR course and haven’t gotten around to it yet.

Even if someone is not in the medical field, I think a basic CPR course could mean the difference between life and death until the paramedics arrive in response to a 911 call. There have been numerous news accounts of this happening in all sorts of situations where large numbers of the public are gsthered.

I think a basic CPR course is a great idea for anyone to take. You just never know where or when the necessity for it may arise.

For every day around the house – - food prep / food safety courses maybe available at a local community college. Nothing like food poisoning to make you think you are dying.
