Swallowed perfume?

Asked by MinnieRenee (9points) July 24th, 2015

My mother uses perfume as an air freshener, and she will just go around the house spraying it everywhere. I had my drink on the table, and after she sprayed the perfume, I took a sip of it. I noticed that it tasted really funny and I linked it to the perfume…will it harm me or will I be fine? Thank you in advance! :)

Super minute amount. You’ll be fine. Just imagine how much of the crap your mother has ingested, and she seems to have suffered nothing worse that impaired judgement.

The perfume is not good for anything in the house. Bad on wood furniture finishes and probably eventually yellow upholstery and carpet.

Consider buying her a Lamp Ring or an old fashioned Perfume Lamp. She’ll use a lot less perfume and you’ll thank her for it.

That little but won’t do anything.

Your biggest problem is how long that nasty taste stayed with you. I once saw a little girl grab a shot glass of rubbing alcohol and down it before anyone could speak or reach her. Earrings had been sitting in it moments before. She ran out the door. It was all one quick event. I followed her out the door, to bring her back in to drink some water. That quick it came right back up. I was just in time to see it hit the grass. She was fine after that. She is a grandma now, and doesn’t know about the story at all.
I agree with the advice @ibstubro has for you.
